Heather, I was approached by a company called Apricus Energy Partners for use of our reclaimed water. Since they are located approx. 2.5 miles south of CAWH boundary, they are well outside of our Water Service Area. I pointed them to COS since the property falls within their jurisdiction. Their request is for "as much reclaimed water as we'll give them". Their plans include hydrogen manufacturing for electricity to run a data center on an adjacent property. While they requested a nominal amount for the hydrogen side, they are most interested in the reclaimed water for the cooling system for the data center. Council needs to weigh in IF COS grants them permission to seek water from CAWH. I have been going through the City's municipal code for any items that would need to be addressed that may be in conflict with serving outside our boundaries, if Council would like to proceed. There's also the existing Reclaimed Water System Plan that has looked to maximize getting as much reclaimed water used to focus potable water for growth- The plan would need to be updated IF reclaimed water was to be going outside our jurisdiction. My question to you is what Comp Plan goals would also be affected if Council chooses to pursue this request (if COS allows it). I've attached the draft PP so you can see what I have created so far.
