Spokane County Commissioners- I’ve been following the Board’s recent work on the 2026 budget, particularly the challenge of closing a $12 million gap while maintaining essential public safety and criminal justice services. It’s clear that while the county has been diligent in its fiscal management, the combination of rising labor costs and the 1% property tax cap is creating an increasingly difficult math problem for the years ahead. Most commissioners I work with describe a similar frustration: you are committed to being good stewards of public funds, but the current financial landscape feels like putting together a complex puzzle without the image on the box. When external mandates and revenue caps take pieces off the board, it becomes harder to see how every dollar is specifically fueling your highest-impact goals for community safety and infrastructure. We specialize in priority based budgeting (PBB). This framework helps counties like Spokane move beyond the exhaustion of "death by a thousand cuts" and toward a value-based map of spending. By mapping your resources directly to your core strategic priorities, PBB provides the data clarity needed to show taxpayers exactly why certain trade-offs are necessary and how their resources are being protected. I've attached some information and would like to present more to you. Is there any interest or questions here?
