Spokane County Commissioners- I’ve been following the Board’s recent work on the 2026 budget, particularly the challenge of closing a $12 million gap while maintaining essential public safety and criminal justice services. It’s clear that while the county has been diligent in its fiscal management, the combination of rising labor costs and the 1% property tax cap is creating an increasingly difficult math problem for the years ahead.
