Dear Commissioner Brooks, I'm a Spokane resident writing to urge the county to use the four-month permitting pause to put real safeguards in place before the Apricus West Plains data center moves forward. My main concerns: - Water: The site sits on the aquifer many of us rely on for drinking water, and I don't think its long-term water demand has been adequately studied. - Energy: Reports put the project's electricity need at up to 1,000 MW, a huge share of Avista's capacity. I'm concerned about grid reliability and rate impacts on existing customers. - Environment/land use: A project this size will have lasting effects on the West Plains that haven't been fully disclosed to the public.
