Good Morning Bill, We have been considering this as part of the Draft 2026 Comprehensive Plan. Katherine has the overall system knowledge and goals to address this question from both capital plan and operations standpoint. A policy is included in the Draft Capital Facilities Chapter regarding utilizing reclaimed water, when possible. The key to application or to put forth an ordinance for mandatory connection is that the system needs two elements prior to require its usage: extension of pipes to serve areas and capacity to provide the reclaimed water. The below snippet show the some of the extent of the reclaimed water system. A recent extension under 6th Avenue which allowed Parks access to the system could in the future be extended to the Spokane Tribe. If a line was extended to McFarlane, several users could switch to utilizing reclaimed water. Good morning, Recent discussions involving our reclaimed water as an asset to the city induce me to ask, is it time to consider amending our development code(s) to require inclusion of reclaimed water for irrigation in future developments?
