Some preliminary work has been done to draft a high-level economic framework and to assess the true capacity of our nonprofit organizations and private sector partners. To ensure a productive and candid conversation, we ask that each of you come prepared to reflect on the following questions and to engage openly in a discussion about what comes next for the Spokane region: How would you articulate our current regional economic development strategy? What specific regional economic outcomes are we underwriting through our investments (e.g., job quality, industry diversification, population growth, tax base)? What level of performance accountability should private funders reasonably expect from economic development investments? In addition, we are eager to hear your perspectives as we all begin planning and shaping the agenda for the April 28 economic development discussion. Your input will be critical in ensuring that conversation is focused, aligned, and impactful.
